• Bruising along the lap portion of the seatbelt

Seatbelts are often the cause of many auto accident injuries. Although they protect from head and chest trauma, they often compress or displace internal organs upon impact.

 

Children are especially prone to these types of safety belt injuries, as they are generally too small for the belts to fit properly. They also have a softer abdominal region than fully matured adults.
